October 2011 press releases:

Demographix Version 7 transition programme completed

13 Oct 2011 All major subscribers have now been transitioned to more feature-rich system. Users warmly welcome new analysis interfaces and customised reporting.

All of Demographix’s major customers have now been fully transitioned to the new toolsets for building surveys, analysing data and reporting. The transition programme has been hailed a success by customers, who have also welcomed the new features that have given them greater functionality and easier data analysis and reporting.

Among enhancements to the build toolset have been: multiple conditionality, dynamic answer options and clearer flagging of compulsory questions within surveys. Multiple conditionality allows individual questions or groups of questions to be shown on the basis of how respondents answered previous questions. A survey designer might want a sub-set of questions shown only to “Middle-aged females living in the Midlands” and the demographic questions about sex, age and location would trigger these.

Dynamic answers allow users to create follow-on questions that display only the options selected from a previous question. For example, a question about what channels the respondent regularly watched on TV could be followed by a satisfaction rating matrix showing only those channels previously selected.

“This has been a major development project that has involved a lot of testing and a careful rollout,” said marketing director Bobby Pickering. “We have done this without any disruption to customers using our system – and in the process given them a much enhanced user environment and toolsets, all at no extra cost.”

Users have warmly welcomed the new analysis and statistics interfaces. Multiple filters can be applied easily to data; individual questions can be reordered according to number of responses; and cross tabs are now more clearly tagged. Report generation (in Excel and PDFs) is a one-click operation for all customised reports created in the analysis toolset.

Roll-out of Version 7 began in midsummer 2011 and has taken just over three months to complete. Major customers in the UK and the US have been given free training sessions on the new system as part of the programme.
